That bloody pandemic is over (kind of), and we’re all allowed back in public, so it’s high time we set aside the casual disregard for public decency and put some actual pants on! Stop elastic waisting time. Stop acting like nothing matters. We’re better than this. Or if you aren’t, Carolyn Swindell certainly is.
Carolyn Swindell’s solo debut show Why DIY? was short-listed for the 2019 Sydney Fringe Festival’s Best in Comedy Award. Her sold-out season at the 2022 Sydney Comedy Festival with her political comedy Nice Lady MP received rave reviews. She is a regular on the Sydney stand-up scene and appeared at clubs around the country and in her native New Zealand. She is the founder of the Hunters Hill Comedy Fest and in April 2022 won Australia’s richest stand-up competition, Joke Off. A regular on ABC Radio Sydney’s Drive and Evenings, she has opened for Tom Gleeson and Justin Hamilton. She is the writer of www.shakestirmuddle.com, and www.festivetreason.com and her debut novel “We Only Want What’s Best” will be published by Affirm Press in 2023. She is uncommonly good at packing a dishwasher.
Carolyn entered her teens in the early 1980s so has plenty of fashion shame to process.
