“I am passionate about design and creativity. I live in the Royal National Park surrounded by bush and beautiful beaches. I’m inspired by nature and to capture my feelings of it, I like to paint from memory to get the essence and spirit of the environment as well as to reflect its vitality using colour and texture.
In my exhibition ‘Curiosities’, I explore the emotional connection to objects accumulated over time. Being born in Argentina, I have a collection of ‘mates and bombillas’. Drawing these traditional drink containers in my preferred mediums of watercolour, ink and pen gave me the opportunity to reflect on my heritage and experiment with various drawing techniques.
I have completed design studies at a Bachelor level in Visual Communication from the University of Technology Sydney, majoring in photography. I also lived in New Zealand, where I studied various fine art courses at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, and in 2000 was a NZ finalist in the global Winsor & Newton Worldwide Millennium Painting Competition.
Some of my favourite artists are John Olsen, Henri Matisse, David Hockney, Gustav Klimt, Margaret Preston and Del Kathryn Barton.
I spend my time working as a graphic designer from my home office in Bundeena and creating art at the Lennox Street Studio in Newtown.”
