Inspiring, fun workshops from three diverse artists from the Lennox Street Studios. Artists Maria Christou, Andre Hobday and Kelly Wallwork, are offering a range of workshops to spark your creativity!
The Lennox Street Studios is a creative space to over 40 artists working in a multiple of mediums from a variety of backgrounds, including Archibald Prize winners and internationally exhibiting artists. As such, the studios promote an atmosphere of diverse creativity and artistic support. A dynamic, creative space for almost three decades.SCHEDULEMaria Christou Photography for beginners: 3-5pm Saturday 9 Sept. - Learn all about the two main functions Aperture and Shutter Speed which allows you to have full creative control of your camera Chasing shadows: 3-5pm Sunday 10 Sept. - Learning different lighting techniques and creating atmospheric images when exploring silhouettes and shadows.Andre Hobday Classical and expressionist drawing:1-3pm Saturday 2 Sept - Learn the basics of structure and proportions. 1-3pm Saturday 9 Sept - Learn anatomy and tone.1-3pm Saturday 16 Sept - We focus on the portrait.1-3pm Saturday 23 Sept - We explore different artistic styles, with a model.1-3pm Saturday 30 Sept - Focus on developing your own personal style, with a model.Kids workshopLearn to paint and draw Sci fi and fantasy characters in a realistic yet Imaginative style:This is an intensive structured 5 week course though you can attend at any time.11:40- 1:40 Sunday 3 Sept - We will be learning how to draw people in proportion and with structure.11:40- 1:40 Sunday 10 Sept - The focus is drawing the portrait.11:40- 1:40 Sunday 17 Sept - We will be learning about tone, anatomy and movement.11:40- 1:40 Sunday 24 Sept - Our Imaginative characters come to life with colour, as we concentrate on individual style and personal expression.Kelly Wallwork Making Hangables from Found Things1-3pm Sunday 10 Sept. - Bring your own scraps of packaging, plastics, printed stuff, or use some supplied. Together we will cut it up and rejoin it with wire or twine or stitching to make an assemblage to hang on the wall /from the door frame / from your ears!
