MADAM NIGHTINGALE PRESENTS SUPERLUNARY SYNTHPOP

Madam Nightingale is the alter-ego of visual artist, lyricist and composer Phaedra Gunn (she/they). Described as a joyful bizarre love triangle between Björk, Kate Bush and Charli XCX, Madam Nightingale performs a spellbinding continuous cycle of song, interpretive dance & theatrical spoken word. Conceptually inspired by Ziggy Stardust, however unlike Ziggy’s omnisexual androgynous alien origins, Madam Nightingale is a spiritual femme being from a higher plane looking down on humanity like the compassionate face of Gaia, Earth Mother.

Madam Nightingale performs songs with jazz and hyperpop flavours, including their debut single, ‘Dance With Me,’ a song celebrating personal resilience. Singing a strong message of living life to the fullest, the uplifting show was written during a moment of deep despair in the early 2020s. The triumphant music, groovy percussion and oft tongue-in-cheek lyrics brings light to darkness as Madam Nightingale encourages us all to dance through the adversities of life.
