What is The Sydney Fringe?

The Sydney Fringe is a leading voice for independent arts advocacy in Sydney. Our primary practical operations comprise of our annual Sydney Fringe Festival happening in August & September, as well as management of our pop-up open access venues operating year-round and Sydney’s best parties.

What is the Sydney Fringe Festival?

The Sydney Fringe Festival is the largest independent arts event in New South Wales with over 450 events in every genre you can imagine each year.

 

Each September culture creators from all over the city join forces with us to share Sydney’s stories and demonstrate the type of city they want to live in all year round and artists from the fringe around the country and the world join us to make a truly global local festival.

Where is The Sydney Fringe Festival?

The Sydney Fringe Festival takes place in pop-up and existing venues and public spaces all over the greater Sydney area, with major hubs in the Inner East,  CBD, Newtown, Inner East, The Harbour, Western Sydney and elsewhere. Discover all our precincts and venues and explore your city in your way.

When is the Sydney Fringe Festival?

The festival runs from 1 – 30 September every year and in 2023 WE ARE BACK and WE ARE PINK.

TICKETING

How can I buy tickets for the Sydney Fringe Festival?

Special event tickets are on-sale July 15. All Sydney Fringe Festival tickets can be purchased online from 1st August on our What’s On page.  To make sure you don’t miss any early ticket releases, keep an eye on our social channels, as well as subscribe to our mailing list.

You can also buy tickets at one of our Physical box offices which are popping up in a few locations around the City.

From the 1 – 30 September you can find our box office at the QVB Forecourt, open 12-10 pm daily. Here you can buy tickets, get exclusive access to rush tix and find out all the information you need to know about the Festival.

When can I buy tickets for the Sydney Fringe Festival?

All tickets can be purchased online from our What’s On page, through our App or at one of our Box Offices.  To make sure you don’t miss any early ticket releases, keep an eye on our social channels, as well as subscribe to our mailing list.

What credit cards are accepted?

We accept MasterCard, Visa debit and credit and AMEX.

Can I buy physical tickets?

You certainly can! From the 31st of August, we have a brand new Box Office on the forecourt of The QVB.

Some venues also operate an in-person box office directly before each performance but be aware that events may be sold out by this time. Please note that the online box office remains open until 5 minutes after each show starts so if you happen to be at one of our hubs and notice a show’s about to start that you’d like to see, jump on your phone to buy a last-minute ticket (subject to availability).

I don’t have a printer at home, can I collect my tickets elsewhere?

You can show staff your e-ticket on your phone when you arrive at the venue, and door staff at most Fringe venues will have a door list on the night. If in doubt please call the individual venue.

What tickets do I buy my children?

Children under 12 are considered a Concession where concession tickets are available.

Variable tickets for children under 1 are show specific. Please contact our box office for details. On the event page for the show you are attending, you will see the rating of the show which will indicate whether this is suitable for children.

Can tickets be exchanged or refunded?

We will only refund or exchange tickets in the event of a show cancellation. If you have purchased tickets to a show that has subsequently been cancelled, please await further instructions from our box office team.

10am—5pm Monday to Friday (until 30 August)

During the Festival

10am—9pm Monday to Friday

5pm—9pm Saturday (31 August to 1 October)

Where else can I get Sydney Fringe tickets?

The Sydney Fringe uses trusted third-party ticketing providers, Today Tix and Show Film First.

Can I book tickets with my Companion Card?

Sydney Fringe Festival supports the Companion Card program. For patrons who require the assistance of a companion or carer, a second ticket is issued at no cost to the Companion Card holder. You can check out the rest of our accessibility options HERE.

Where can I get a copy of this years Festival Guide?

Our printed Festival Guide is distributed throughout the city from August 1 and is available to pick up at various locations and all Fringe venues.  Alternatively, the full program is available online and can be found here. To check out the guides from previous years, head to our Festival Archive.

How do I find out the age suitability of a show?

Age suitability and specific content warnings are stated on the relevant event pages for each show. Please remember that there is no legal classification system for live performance and these ratings are self-nominated by creators.

What if I have feedback about a show or performance?

Please fill out the form on our Contact Us page and we will pass your comments on to the relevant production company. We welcome all feedback and will consider any recommendations and comments.

How can I register a show for Sydney Fringe Festival?

Artist Registrations are open from April 1st to 30th annually. Further information about registrations is available on the Artists Page.
