The Sydney Fringe is a leading voice for independent arts advocacy in Sydney. Our primary practical operations comprise of our annual Sydney Fringe Festival happening in August & September, as well as management of our pop up open access venues operating year-round and some of Sydney’s best parties.
The Sydney Fringe Festival is the largest independent arts event in New South Wales with over 500 events in every genre you can imagine each year.
Each August and September culture creators from all over the city join forces with us share Sydney’s stories and demonstrate the type of city they want to live in all year round and artists from the fringe around the country and the world join us to make a truly global local festival.
The Sydney Fringe Festival takes place in pop-up and existing venues and public spaces all over the greater Sydney area, with major hubs in the CBD, Newtown, Inner East, Western Sydney and elsewhere. Discover all our precincts and venues and explore your city in your way.
The festival runs from August- September every year and in 2022 WE ARE BACK, after two years of cancelled festivals and we are ready to party like its 2019.

No, all tickets are purchased online.
We do this for reasons of environmental sustainability and to keep staffing costs down, so audiences pay less while artists make more.
Some venues also operate an in-person box office directly before each performance but be aware that events may be sold out by this time. Please note that the online box office remains open until 5 minutes after each show starts so if you happen to be at one of our hubs and notice a show’s about to start that you’d like to see, jump on your phone to buy a last minute ticket (subject to availability).
You can show staff your e-ticket on your phone when you arrive at the venue, and door staff at most Fringe venues will have a door list on the night. If in doubt please call the individual venue.
Children under 12 are considered a Concession where concession tickets are available.
Variable tickets for children under 1 are show specific. Please contact our box office for details. On the event page for the show you are attending, you will see the rating of the show which will indicate whether this is suitable for children.
We will only refund or exchange tickets in the event of a show cancellation. If you have purchased tickets to a show that has subsequently been cancelled, please await further instructions from our box office team.
We do not operate a telephone box office but we are on hand to assist you.
