Waybarra Gidyira

Weaving Workshops & Yarns

This year, Fringe is building something; we are embarking on a Festival-long art project with Wiradjuri Yinaa (Woman) and artist Peta Joy Williams. Coil by coil an animal emerges from our collective yarning, it’s plumage made of our stories of reconciliation and respect. Join us at one of our Waybara Gidyira (Weaving Animal) workshops. Come along to one of out three weaving Workshop & Yarn events held at City and Inner West locations, including a special kids session. We invite all participants to leave their coil behind to be added to our newest Fringe friend, Dinawan (Emu) created in collaboration with Gene Kelaher and Daniel Samuel.
