This is the year for all things tumbling, flying, jumping, crawling or leaping. The incredible crew at the legendary Legs On The Wall company have teamed up with Fringe to transform their amazing Red Box facility in Lilyfield into a circus hub for this year’s festival. Not only will there be an amazing array of fringe shows, a pop-up courtyard bar and workshops but Legs’ Artistic Director and Fringe Ambassador Joshua Thomson has curated a program of circus acts from around the country to headline at the Hub.

Letters to an Unborn Child by Brown Paper Circus
28th - 30th Sept
Taking inspiration from Karl Ove Knausgaurds 'Autumn', Letters To An Unborn Child explores aspects of our lives which are both beautifully curious and devastatingly unfair. We find ourselves born into a world already made, with history ingrained and ideas set in stone. What are the lessons we are teaching the next generations? What are the stories being told? How do we celebrate the goodness of the world without glossing over the evil? This new work delves into our perceptions of the world around us, and how we face up to the inequalities that threaten the fabric of humanity. What is worth fighting for?
Brown Paper Circus uses the physical body, text, image, apparatus, and movement to create contemporary, compelling circus theatre. A resilient and forward-thinking company, they dive into a world of contradictions and seek to be a platform for voices, questions, and truths both gorgeous and ugly.
Director- David Jackson
Performers- Katie McDonagh, Emma Goh, Catherine Wait, Paige Walker, David Hellman

The Women Of Chasing Smoke by Casus
28th - 30th Sept
The three women of Casus Circus' Chasing Smoke represent culture, family, art and the power of woman through contemporary circus.
Ally Humphris a Wakka Wakka woman is a trained dancer, gymnast and more recently a circus artist specializing in flying, hand balance and ground acrobatics. Lara Croydon is a Gudjala Kabulba woman with a theatre background who shifted into contemporary circus focusing on trapeze and storytelling through juggling.
Pearl Thompson's grandmother was stolen as a baby and lost knowledge of the original country. Pearl attended ACPA to learn traditional dance and in her quest of self-discovery uses contemporary circus to tell this story.
Chasing Smoke, an evocative and triumphant performance by Australia's only Indigenous contemporary circus ensemble.
Both playful and brave, Chasing Smoke is the spark that ignites the question 'Who am I?' when you have 40,000 years of history to sift through in search of an answer.
Take a glimpse into the world's oldest living culture told through the artform of contemporary circus.
