As the curtain draws to a close on another unforgettable Sydney Fringe Festival, we’re thrilled to announce that 2025 has been our biggest year yet.
This September, Sydney Fringe welcomed a record-breaking number of artists across the city, transforming theatres, terraces, outdoor spaces, and even unused spaces into vibrant stages. Together with audiences, we celebrated the incredible talent and diversity of the independent arts sector, and the results have been history-making.
On Monday 15 September, our $15 flash sale set a new benchmark, with 6,000 tickets sold in a single day. That’s thousands of people taking a chance on an indie show, and thousands of dollars going directly back into the hands of independent artists! Year on year, we’re seeing more audiences buying tickets to Sydney Fringe Festival, and supporting the artists who make Sydney’s cultural life shine.
We want to take a moment to thank every single person who bought a ticket, attended a free event, took a punt on something new, and kept coming back for more throughout September. Your support doesn’t just fill theatres, it sustains the livelihoods of independent artists, keeps our creative spaces alive, and fuels the future of Australian stories.
While most of the festival has officially wrapped, you can still catch the magic:
Fool’s Paradise at the Entertainment Quarter continues until this Sunday: All remaining tickets slashed! Kids shows $20, adult shows $30. Get a ticket before the Fringe FOMO sets in.
When Night Comes at The Rocks has been extended until 16 October: your last chance to experience Broad Encounters’ decadent, immersive masterpiece before it leaves Sydney for good.
This year, we activated unused venues, reopened Darlinghurst’s iconic Eternity Playhouse, worked alongside the Head First Acrobats to build a buzzing festival garden at The Entertainment Quarter, and launched new partnerships including Parramatta Lit in Western Sydney, and Lane Cove Festival @ Sydney Fringe.
From the CBD to the Inner West to Western Sydney, we’ve seen communities embrace and celebrate independent art like never before.
2025 was a year of wins for Sydney Fringe, but we’re only just getting started! With your continued support, we’ll keep building momentum and deliver an even bigger and better festival in 2026.
Watch this space. The best is yet to come…
