About this event
A dramedy about sex, love, and womanhood, set at the cusp of the sexual revolution.

Tanya is a timid 25 year old who shells out advice through the pages of Honey - writing about everything from secretarial jobs and the perfect lipstick to the female orgasm. On the other side is Bronnie, a confident 17 year old who studies Tanya’s columns as a rulebook of womanhood. But does Tanya really have all the answers?

Agony is a dramedy about sex, love, and womanhood, set at the cusp of Sydney’s sexual revolution, 1975. Blending humour and heartache, Agony is a meditation on Women’s Liberation and a love letter to the teen girls who came of age just as everything was changing.

This work was supported by Shopfront Arts Co-op's Open Shop program and a bAKEHOUSE Residency at KXT.
