About this event
How do we decide where we truly belong? Caught In Between explores the possibility of existing within two worlds at once, and the complexities of being a migrant.

On the 10th anniversary of her family’s migration from Malaysia to Australia, actor and theatre maker Dani reflects on her cultural identity and what it means to be ‘Asian-Australian’.

This award-winning multi-disciplinary work blends original soundscapes, large video projections, and live interactive storytelling to create an immersive experience that blurs the line between Dani's Malaysian and Australian upbringing. Audience members become active participants in this journey, travelling through personal memories, objects, and time. Through this, they will uncover emotions, challenges, and decisions that shape the lives of migrants.

Winner of a Weekly Award at the 2024 Adelaide Fringe, the Sydney premiere of this work is proudly assisted by the South Australian Government through Carclew, Helpmann Academy and ActNow Theatre.
