Tinkering
When I was a kid, I’d often hear my mum screaming “DAAAANNNNIIIEELLLLLEEE” which meant my mum was stuck under a bed, and needed help. She wasn’t physically stuck under a bed. Mum is just claustrophobic. My little sisters would often kick stuff under their beds, then mum would try get it out, midway under the bed she’d have a panic and scream for me. I’d run in, grab her legs and pull her out, we had tiled floors so she slid out easy peasy. Danielle Walker shares new stories in this work-in-progress hour, blending gentle chaos with her trademark offbeat charm. This is a rare chance to see one of Australia’s most original comedy voices in the raw, testing new stuff. “Walker provides a unique and passionate one woman show which stole my heart in her final performance of the festival... quick witted, warm and honest” Nostalgia “Danielle Walker is refreshingly gentle in her stand-up. Without shouting at us or aggressively firing off insults one after the other, she is in command of her stage and in command of her punchlines.” The Wee Review
