About this event
Physical theatre at the cutting edge. A fierce, existential crisis at the rave that has swept up 21 awards and nominations across the Melbourne and New Zealand Fringe Festival circuit.

A war cry for the internet age.

Consider the ever-expanding blackness of space, the vastness of the deep ocean, the scale of depravity online and in political chambers.

Do you remember the last time you really lost yourself on the dance floor?

Motion Sickness uses a score of pulsing electronic music, immersive AV and breakneck-speed new writing to compare the end of the universe to the current political fire storm of 2026. Lauded as "the voice of their generation" (Flat City Feild Notes) and "seminal Gen-Z artistry" (Art Murmurs) get ready for a2 Company to show you how the universe will end.

Being a tiny part of a massive cosmos is not the same as being insignificant.

a2 is an Aoteroa born, Naarm based theatre company that fuses dance, text, installation and live music to reflect how it feels to live in burning world under late-stage-capitalism. They are known for making award-winning high-impact, hopeful, challenging works.

This is their first time touring to Sydney.

Reviews

“If there is such a thing anymore, they (a2) might just be the voice of their generation.” Flat City Feild Notes

"Both unrelenting and exhilarating, Motion Sickness spits you out at its finale, light headed, a little woozy but unable to resist wanting more. A perfect metaphor for the age we live in today." Theatreview

"(a2 Company) push their bodies, voices, and instruments to the limit, creating a work that is tumultuous yet profoundly relatable." My Melbourne Arts
