Join us for the Launch of Parramatta’s Lit! A collaborative grassroots literary festival
developed by the storytellers, writers, and literary community of Parramatta presented in partnership with the local writers, storytellers, and writing organisations of Western Sydney.

Under a beautiful spring sky in Spring, join us for Warami and Words – a powerful evening of story, welcome and community on Monday 1 September 2025 at the Dharug Yarning Circle, Parramatta Square. Arrivals from 5:30pm, formalities 6:00–7:00pm.

Led by Dharug Cultural Knowledge Holders, the evening opens with Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country (Linda Sainsbury), a Smoking Ceremony (Tara Lloyd), and reflections from Jayne Christian, followed by community readings.

Parramatta’s Lit! Festival Director Augusta Supple hosts official remarks from the City of Parramatta’s Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter, NSW Member of Parliament Donna Davis, and Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW marking the formal opening of Parramatta’s Lit! at Sydney Fringe.
