About this event
Step into an immersive celebration of ritual pluralism and cross-cultural dialogue spanning First Nations creators to the world.

On Sunday 13 September from 2-8pm, Machine Hall will come alive with 'Rituals', showcasing a dynamic tapestry of expression woven by a multicultural collective of 25+ artists.

This is a free event for all ages featuring an intimate panel discussion, live music, dance, and bespoke artisan stalls.

RITUALS – The Sacred, The Now, The In-Between

From 2pm, the doors to Machine Hall will open to an immersive world of light, video and sound with artisan displays featuring intricate traditional and contemporary crafts.

Join us at 2:30pm for Acknowledgement of Country before an intimate panel discussion.

Gather round and listen to distinguished performers and thought leaders Gambirra Illume (Gambirra MOB) and Shyamla Eswaran (Bindi Bosses) open an honest dialogue with OroAna (Mami Guata) on the ancestral traditions that lie at the heart of their creative practices. (Note: more panelists to be announced).

Find your feet in a ritualistic soundscape curated by acclaimed dancer and DJ Lady Chika; behold the breathtaking choreography of movement artists Sophia Ndaba and Shyamla Eswaran; trace the swift and masterful brushstrokes of Tomoko Oka’s large-scale calligraphy; groove to GabZak and 'A Dance Of Worlds' feat. Raphael Hatzi and Yarran; fire up the dance floor with electro polyrhythm trio OYOBI feat. a special guest vocalist - and turn it up (and up) for a heart-pumping set by 9-piece powerhouse band Gambirra MOB led by Yolngu songstress, Gambirra Illume.

Get ready for an all-encompassing journey into The Sacred, The Now and The In-between.

Free to attend. Everyone is welcome. RSVP is highly recommended.
