A beautiful experience. Grief, a river, sisters in an Australian town with atmospheric music and dance. Lovely.

What a show

go feel this!!! - only song, dance, dialogue, and movement can create such a visceral and cathartic representation of moving through grief

Worth it

Intelligent depiction of stories we tell ourselves to avoid feeling loss. I loved the river character and as a dance fan enjoyed all these sequences

About this event
"You'd do anything for me, except let me go."

The River Ghost is a gripping and heartfelt exploration of self-discovery, fragmentation and loss through theatre and music.

Anna Rushmer's latest creation is an emotional and introspective examination into agency and stagnation, the cost of action against the cost of inaction, and explores how our harshest critic is often ourselves. A modern reimagining of watery folk tales including The Little Mermaid and Undine, Rushmer’s work delves into a psychological world of ethereal dance, music and shadow projections.
