About this event
A genre-bending horror/comedy journey spanning stage and screen. Join performance group Heat Pack and filmmaker Jayden Rathsam Hua on a delightfully cursed sleepover of colourful crafts and analogue horror.

5PM MY PLACE, BRING UR PJS, LET’S HAVE A FRICKEN SLEEPOVER!! 。◕‿◕。Three best friends, one birthday girl, a bedazzled camcorder, and the scariest stories they’ve ever told- what could possibly go wrong!?
It’s Fia’s 14th birthday slumber party, her longtime besties G and Al are over for a night of giggles, lollies, scary stories, and secret sharing. As the trio eats their way through a pack of sour squirms, they challenge each other to tell their spookiest, most terrifying stories. What happens when teenage anxiety and friendship spinters come out to play? Some monsters aren’t afraid of the dark.
Comedic theatrical group HEAT PACK (Fia Morrison, Georgia Condon, Alison Cooper) and horror filmmaker Jayden Rathsam Hua stage The Sleepover, a theatrical, genre-bending journey into the mythology of bedrooms as sanctuaries from real-world nightmares. This work combines Heat Pack’s multidisciplinary stage experience in absurdist comedy with Jayden Rathsam Hua’s unique voice in horror filmmaking, whose repertoire includes short films such as SUSHI NOH (2021) and BELLOE (2024), having garnered over 40 selections and multiple awards across international film festivals.
The Sleepover invites participants to join three young girls, played by the members of Heat Pack, for an ordinary after-school sleepover.
Come in your sleepover best, fluffy socks are encouraged! But don’t stay up too late, your nightmares might catch up to you.
