Red means stop seeing other people; yellow means slow down things are getting serious; green means go find love.
'Traffic Light Party' written by Izzy Azzopardi, is the story of a bunch of confused uni students. Confused about sexuality, about labels, about priorities. The play takes place at a party with the obnoxious titular theme that encourages guests to wear red if they’re in a relationship, yellow if it’s ‘complicated’, and green if they’re single. However, colour is on a spectrum, and so are relationships. If people are ‘more than’ friends, what does that say about the value of friendship? If it’s ‘just’ sex do boundaries still need to be respected? 'Traffic Light Party' thematically examines the subconscious hierarchy of relationships and the absurdity of labels, challenging the definition of love and humanity’s moral compass. Oozing with drama, comedy, absurdism and physical theatre, audiences are encouraged to fasten their seatbelts... You don't want to miss this party!
