ZineWest is a print zine and competition for aspiring Western Sydney writers run by New Writers Group Incorporated. Morning tea, readings, artwork, judges, prizes and a giant book raffle.
NEW Writers Group Incorporated loves to create projects that boost the creativity and skills of writers from Western Sydney. There is always a buzz at the launch as writers prepare to read from their work and hope for a prize. It might be someone's first print publication or first time presenting to an audience. The event is enhanced by local writers who generously contribute their work for the print zine. The Zine can only fit about 28 written works and ten images and we always receive more good entries than we have space for. This year, with the help of an Australian Cultural Fund project, all entrants can also submit work to our digital zine Expression. ZineWest Judges are Luke Carman (writing), Maria Constantinescu (art). Editor is Sue Crawford. Prizes total $1000 plus book awards.
