Frequently asked questions

Can I perform solo or do I need a band?
Both are welcome. You can perform alone or with collaborators—just make sure your total set is 10 minutes or less.

What if I need technical support (backing tracks, sound setup)?
Let us know in your signup form. Eora TAFE has a full sound system and tech support. We’ll work with you to make sure you’re set up for success.

Is there a cost to perform?
No! It’s free to register and perform. This is a celebration of First Nations artists within Sydney Fringe.

How will performers be selected if there are more than time slots available?
All registered performers will be notified of the lineup by 3 September. We aim to feature as many artists as possible within our time window.

I’m not sure I’m “good enough” – should I still apply?
Yes. Open mic is for everyone! First-timers and seasoned performers. This is a supportive space to share your work.

Can I invite friends and family to the event?
Absolutely. The event is open to the public. Share the word and build your audience!
