As General Manager of the Sydney Fringe, Paddy brings over 20 years of experience across the arts, events, and hospitality sectors, with a career built on connecting creativity with strategic and operational leadership.
Paddy’s career began in the world of performance and production, working as a theatre technician and stage manager for a wide range of venues, companies, and festivals across Sydney and beyond. Over more than two decades of freelance work, he has contributed to iconic events such as City of Sydney New Year’s Eve, toured nationally and internationally with performing arts companies, and worked with venues like the Sydney Opera House and Angel Place Recital Hall. These years on the ground shaped his deep respect for the people, precision, and creativity it takes to deliver exceptional live experiences.
In addition to his freelance work, Paddy has held senior roles with 107 Projects, Harry the hirer Productions, and UNSW spending over 14 years leading teams across hospitality, technical services, and venue operations. This mix of grassroots and institutional experience has given him a unique perspective on how cultural organisations can both dream big and run effectively.
At the Sydney Fringe, Paddy works alongside the CEO, Board, and Executive team to shape the organisation’s vision, oversee its financial health, and ensure smooth, sustainable operations behind the scenes. Whether it’s reimagining a space, rethinking a system, or helping bring a bold idea to life, Paddy’s passion is supporting the creative heartbeat of Sydney.
