Patrick Kennedy


With over 15 years’ experience at the forefront of the arts and cultural sector, Patrick Kennedy is an accomplished leader with a proven track record in strategic marketing, organisational growth, and championing independent artists. Joining Sydney Fringe in March 2024, Patrick brings deep expertise in building sustainable business models, developing innovative partnerships, and delivering large-scale cultural events.

Prior to joining Sydney Fringe, Patrick led national marketing and publicity campaigns for major productions including Mary Poppins (on behalf of Cameron Mackintosh, Disney, and Michael Cassel Group), & Juliet, Beetlejuice, Dear Evan Hansen, and Opera Australia’s The Phantom of the Opera. His leadership at Michael Cassel Group was instrumental in driving audience engagement and commercial success across diverse theatrical portfolios.

Before relocating to Australia, Patrick co-founded and served as Head of Client Services at We Are I Am, a London-based arts marketing agency with clients such as BBC Studios, Lionsgate, Hasbro, and a range of West End productions including Falsettos, Amelie, The Immersive Great Gatsby, and The Immersive Wolf of Wall Street. He has also held roles at leading UK agencies Dewynters and AKA, managing campaigns for productions such as Funny Girl, Sunny Afternoon, Kinky Boots, Wicked, and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.

Patrick’s career is underpinned by a commitment to audience development, community engagement, and sector advocacy. As the inaugural Marketing & Press Manager at North London’s Park Theatre, he played a key role in shaping the theatre’s brand and expanding its community impact.

Alongside his executive leadership, Patrick is recognised as a practitioner of experimental theatre through his company Patrick Kennedy Theatre Machine, reflecting his passion for innovation and artistic excellence.

Patrick is dedicated to advancing Sydney Fringe’s vision to be celebrated as one of the world’s leading fringe festivals, placing independent artists and cultural creators at the heart of Sydney. He is committed to driving organisational sustainability, fostering a values-driven team culture, and delivering transformative experiences for audiences and artists alike.
