Somewhere in the south-west of Sydney its 2003, and six emotionally isolated people* explore their personal need to seek out fulfilling relationships, belong to something called ‘culture’, and try to stay positive/ or try not to flounder about too much/ …the wider world is on the verge of chaos.

Meet the team: an under-achiever, a policeman, a daydreamer, an entrepreneur, an aspiring millionaire, and a romantic.

 

Šime Knežević

Šime Knežević was born in 1985 and lives in Sydney.

His debut poetry chapbook, The Hostage, was published by Subbed In. His poetry has appeared internationally in Ambit (UK), Australian Poetry Journal, Cordite Poetry Review, Going Down Swinging, Magma (UK), SAND (Germany), Signal House Edition, The Stockholm Review of Literature, and elsewhere.

His credits for the theatre include International Standard Version (2018), You Are The Centre of Everything (2014), This Is It (w/ Team MESS, 2011), The Bonfire (2011), and has presented or developed work at PACT Theatre, Belvoir, Performance Space, Parramatta Riverside, Brisbane Powerhouse, PICA, Shopfront Theatre, Sidetrack Theatre, Urban Theatre Projects, University of Wollongong, Crack Theatre Festival, Next Wave Festival, and Sydney Fringe Festival.

Šime was a recipient of the Subbed In Chapbook Prize, an Australia Council grant, and shortlisted for the Philip Parsons Playwright Award. He studied playwriting at the NIDA Playwrights Studio, completed a Master of Arts in creative writing at the University of Technology Sydney, and in 2019 attended the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry Summer School in Belfast.
