SYDNEY FRINGE IS OPEN FOR SHOW BUSINESS!

Sydney Fringe is an OPEN ACCESS festival, so everyone can take part!  The Fringe Festival runs from 1-30 September and we encourage every fresh, funny, thought-provoking, and spectacular show to participate.  If you have an act, a show or an exhibition that you think would be perfect for 2022, we’d love to hear from you!

This week, we are seeking Expressions of Interest for thrilling and unique performance works from leading Sydney artists as part of our MADE IN SYDNEY contemporary performance program for this year’s Festival.

If you are a new performing arts graduate or artist in the first five years of your practice, then the Sydney Fringe Emerging Artists Share House at Erskineville Town Hall might be just your vibe

The biggest headache for any show is financial management. Our first Artist Masterclass FUND IT on May 9th will fill in the knowledge gaps and give you expert tips on raising funds and running a tight budget.

We are here to help! If you have any questions about artist registrations, venues or anything Sydney Fringe Festival, please give our Artists Services team a call on 0402 371 004 or email us at artists@sydneyfringe.com

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NOW OPEN FOR MADE IN SYDNEY

In the model of the critically acclaimed Touring Hub, the 2022 MADE IN SYDNEY program will be a headline curated program of events which showcases the best, most exciting, most inventive work being made by Sydney Independent Artists. The program will be showcased first for Sydney Fringe audiences and the many interstate and international producers who will attend the 2022 Sydney Fringe Festival, and then beyond!

We encourage Sydney-based performance makers of all kinds with a proven track record of creating high-calibre work to submit an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI). This is not a program for developments or developmental showing seasons. Works should be premiere-ready at the time of submission, having undertaken at least one season or a substantial creative development.

FRINGE HUB PROFILE: THE EMERGING ARTIST SHARE HOUSE

Starting out in your career as an artist? Share your experience with friends!  Our Emerging Artist Hub at Erskineville Town Hall is a stalwart of Sydney Fringe. Each year the program gets bigger to house all the amazing up and coming artists of the festival.  To squeeze them all in we have activated four spaces within the building, which will each have three shows per day for the first three weeks of the festival!  You can act, sing, dance, tell stories and do your thing in the Living Room, the Spare Room, the Office or the Boom-Boom Room and you will be in great company.

Complete your artist registration and then chat to the Artist Services team about your needs to see if one of these spaces might suit what you want to do.

MASTERCLASS #1: FUND IT!

Fundraising & Budgeting
When: Monday 9 May, 6.00pm-8.00pm
Where: Fringe Head Office & Online

For beginners and experienced producers, the FUND IT Masterclass will guide participants through a production budget template to discuss major budget lines and throw in hot tips on reducing your costs and optimising your revenue streams. The session will focus on how to create a funding strategy and review funding options of sponsorship, partnerships, grants, private giving and crowd sourcing.

Supported by NIDA, the Masterclass series is free for all artists who have registered for the 2022 Sydney Fringe Festival.  If you have registered your event, you will be sent an invitation to attend the sessions two weeks prior to the date.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR EVENT

If you were an Artist or Producer who registered for the 2021 Sydney Fringe Festival and you want to roll over your show into the 2022 program, please email artists@sydneyfringe.com.au now (if you haven’t already done so!).

If you were an Artist or Producer in a Sydney Fringe Festival previous to 2021, simply log in to Eventotron, go to your profile, create an event and register it with Sydney Fringe Festival 2022 at 9am on Friday 1st April, when registrations open.

If you’re new to Sydney Fringe:

1. Head to our registration site www.eventotron.com
2. Enter your email address in the new users section
3. Click ‘Register’

You will then be emailed a password – use this password to sign in (you can change the password later if you like).

If you receive a warning saying ‘An account already exists for your email address, please request a password reminder’ it means that your profile may already be in our system from a previous Festival, as well as the email address associated with that profile. If this is the case, simply click on ‘Forgotten or missing password’ and request a password, then use that new password to sign in.

You will then need to create an event, which you can do while you are waiting for the Sydney Fringe Festival registrations to open.
