Top 10 Things to Do at Sydney Fringe Festival

Shit Theatre: Or What's Left of Us

Sydney Fringe Festival is back and we’re flipping the script on how to experience this glorious city! Here’s your official sign to ditch the usual and dive into our Top 10 Fringe adventures!

1. Enter the Underworld at Sideshow @ The Rocks
Broad Encounters are turning The Rocks’ Union Bond Store into a deliciously dark immersive dreamscape with When Night Comes. You’ll wander through a world where hedonistic fantasy reigns supreme. Then, just down the street, Fringe royalty Wright & Grainger unleash their five-star storytelling epics Orpheus and HELIOS where Mythology and music collide.

2. Run Away to Fool’s Paradise
Roll up to The Entertainment Quarter where Fool’s Paradise explodes with circus, cabaret and pure adrenaline. The crown jewel? Elixir Revived. It’s Magic Mike meets Cirque du Soleil. It’s abs-olutely unmissable!

3. Go Global at the Touring Hub (Without Leaving Newtown)
Forget the airport queues, Sydney Fringe is importing the best of the world’s Fringe circuit straight to the New Theatre. We’ve got shows from Japan, Denmark, Singapore, The UK & that far, far away place know as Melbourne. Our top pick? Shit Theatre’s Or What’s Left of Us, the five-star Edinburgh Fringe hit that’ll make you laugh, cry, and sing along to folk songs.

4. Add Some Jazz Hands at Off-Broadway @ Eternity Playhouse
Want your Fringe with a touch more polish? Head to Darlinghurst at the newly reopened Eternity Playhouse for a lineup of slick new dance and musical theatre. These are the shows you’ll be bragging about seeing before they made it big.

5. Get Loud & Proud at the Queer Hub
We’re taking over Qtopia Sydney for a month of magic, hosting powerful LGBTQIA+ stories in a space that’s community-led and bursting with joy. We’ve got Hollywood Fringe Tour Ready Award winners Annie & Lorelei bringing their show Queen Out (Verb) all the way from LA!

6. Witness Brilliance at Limitless @ Bondi Pavilion
This isn’t just accessible theatre, it’s unmissable theatre. Limitless is a knockout season of work by d/Deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists. It all kicks off with our Limitless Comedy Gala on 16 Sep, and don’t miss the legendary Elly-May Barnes live for one night only.

7. FEAST on Laughter (and Korean Food)
Comedian Jennifer Wong returns to Hurstville Entertainment Centre with FEAST, an evening of Korean cuisine, killer jokes, and cultural commentary that hits right into your funny bone (and belly).

8. Discover Fringe’s Beating Heart at Emerging Artist Share House
Fifty artists. One big Inner West sharehouse at Erskineville Town Hall. It’s raw, it’s risky, and it’s where you’ll catch the future stars of Australian arts doing unexpected things.

9. Get Whisked Away to Oz @ Marrickville Town Hall
Step through the twister at the Cabaret Hub and into Dorothy in Oz, a wildly immersive reimagining of the classic tale. The yellow brick road starts at the bar. Plus we have 3 more spaces serving up comedy & cabaret all month long.

10. Keep It Local at Made in Sydney @ PACT
Fringe’s homegrown talent hits different. Takatāpui and I Watched Someone Die on TikTok are bold, brilliant new works by local artists Daley Rangi and Charlotte Otton.

So, what are you waiting for? To explore Sydney like never before, it starts with a ticket.
