About this event
Two low-rank goons transport clowns to their Boss’s birthday party – how badly can they f**k it up?

A chaotic two-hander for small, preferably tipsy audiences, THIS WAS ALL A FRUITLESS ENDEAVOUR REALLY follows two low-rank criminal thugs on a catastrophically simple mission: transport a group of hired clowns to their Boss’s birthday party. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot, actually. And yes — someone will probably die.

DOT (played by Nate Gothard) and GILLIE (played by Tegan Harrod) barrel through a disaster of clowning, too many props, and several Samuel Beckett and Shakespeare puns.

Written by AWGIE Award-winning writer Ally Burnham, FRUITLESS ENDEAVOUR is a fast-paced comedy inspired by the chaos, friendship, and heartbreak of independent performance-making. Think Waiting for Godot and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead’s bastard child held together with gaffer tape and optimism.

THIS WAS ALL A FRUITLESS ENDEAVOUR REALLY promises biting political commentary, split sides, surprises, and possibly a free toothbrush on your way out.
