Portrait of Five Artists
Each night for the month of September the windows at 5 Eliza street light up with a collection of filmed portraits by Laura Turner.
Featuring Nitin Vengurlekar, Randa Sayed, Ryuichi Fujimura, Shy Magsalin and Tegan Nicholls with music composition by Tom Hogan and Tegan Nicholls.
Each portrait loops into the next, painting an image of five unique personalities and practitioners working collectively across performance, writing, sound, composition, physical theatre, dance and design. From an initial conversation with each artist, each portrait was then crafted to reflect something unique, moving, secret or special about each of them.
Laura Turner works in theatre, film, performance and installation. Portrait of Five Artists is part of a growing series exploring portraiture in motion. This collection has been designed to be experienced outdoors for the windows at 5 Eliza St.
Portrait of Five Artists can be viewed from dusk until 10pm each night for the month of September at 5 Eliza St, Newtown.
